This year Lithuanian exhibition presents not only the latest world art tendencies: openness of creative process, social unity of art work’s subject, aesthetics of superrealism, derivatives of art synthesis, but represents the best traditions of Lithuanian art, especially in the context of classical genres’ actualization: strong drawing, subtlety of graphics, innovation of ceramics and textile.

Selected authors – very distinctive and interesting artists, demonstrating quality in both aspects: subject matter and technique, therefore exposition is solid. Works conceptual, open to associative polisemantics, reflections of social environment, covering field of wide interpretations. Variety of genres is also ensured. The works of painting, graphics, installation, video art, textile and ceramics are presented, often expanding the limits of their spheres.

Power of superrealism (hyperrealism) and caricature of consumption society are to be seen in the painting of Rodion Petrov “Rebranding. WC Public”. Photographically accurate embodiment of an image permits to draw ones attention towards associative essence of a subject matter: usually impossible or absurd situation in reality.

Finalizing, we may state, that creative mobility project “Young European Creators” have found its position on the routes of Lithuanian art map. Abundance of applications during the selection (differently from the previous years, artists from all Lithuania took part in this year’s selection exhibition) witnesses interest of young artist to participate in the international projects, as well as a fact, that strong and original generation of artists is raising in Lithuania.

« The term « artist from Hamburg », though, is flexible: Since middle of the 1990’s  many artists who finish their studies of Fine Arts and Applied Sciences at the universities in Hamburg, move away because of precarious working conditions and settle in other cities (mostly in Berlin). At the same time, young artists from all over the world follow the still excellent reputation of the universities or come to the city with an exchange programme and therefore stay temporarily as « artists from Hamburg ».

The choice of artists of the German JCE-section, by that means, has a strong relation to Hamburg but still matches in the two aspects with the conditions of the JCE Biennale as with the specific tasks of the hosting institute in Germany, the Kunsthaus Hamburg.

For many years now, Kunsthaus is an origin of international exhibitions and alternative projects which mostly are being realised in cooperation with Hamburg’s twin cities (Osaka, Shanghai, St. Petersburg, Marseille, etc.) and others (Bratislava, Budapest, Havanna, Jerusalem). At the same moment, Kunsthaus is showroom of numerous projects of different initiators that are dedicated to the support of young artist generations, as for example for the « Hamburger Arbeitsstipendium für Bildende Kunst », the « HISCOX Kunstpreis », the « Preis für Fotografie der Patriotischen Gesellschaft », the young art market « INDEX » and the format of « Jugend Kulturell » of the HypoVereinsbank.

The chosen artists are concerned with their works in different media, based on the conditions of the creation and production of art in networking, reflection on media, aesthetic revision of the tradition of signs, autonomous gestures and structures of organisation in public space. »

Inauguration de la Biennale JCE à Hamburg, Allemagne:

Pour cette 10ème edition, la Biennale JCE a établi un nouveau partenariat avec la ville de Hambourg en Allemagne.

Avec cette prestigieuse collaboration, le réseau s’approche de son objectif de fédérer 10 pays européens autour du soutien à la création émergente.

L’exposition JCE sera accueillie pour la première fois en AVRIL/MAI 2012 par la galerie Kunsthaus Hamburg, un lieu de renom de l’art contemporain allemand avec un très bel espace de présentation et des orientations artistiques très pointues.

Le choix des artistes JCE sélectionnés pour l’Allemagne est coordonné par M Claus Mewes, Directeur de la Kunsthaus Hamburg et M Goesta Diercks, commissaire artistique.

A l’occasion du vernissage du 2 avril et pendant toute la durée de l’exposition, l’organisation locale offrira un hébergement gratuit aux artistes JCE interessés, dans la limite des places disponibles. C’est un belle occasion pour participer à l’inauguration de la Biennale dans cette ville magnifique.

Au printemps prochain, le Kunsthaus de Hambourg accueillera la Biennale JCE du 2 avril au 20 mai 2012.
Chers artistes, si vous souhaitez assister à la Biennale JCE à Hambourg, le projet «open room» pourrait être une occasion idéale.
«The open  room artisthotel »  est un logement d’artiste à but non lucratif où les artistes peuvent  rester gratuitement pendant qu’ils travaillent sur leurs projets dans la ville de Hambourg.

A l’occasion du vernissage JCE et pendant toute la durée de l’exposition, l’organisation locale offrira un hébergement gratuit aux artistes  JCE (5 chambres disponibles). D’autres places seront à disposition chez des familles qui soutiennent le projet JCE et accueilleront les artistes comme hôtes.

Inauguration de la Biennale JCE à Klaipeda, Lituanie:

VENDREDI 20 JANVIER 2012

La deuxième étape du circuit JCE va ouvrir ses portes à Klaipeda, dans le prestigiuex centre d’exposition du KCCC (Klaipeda Culture Communication Center), un lieu de pointe du pays pour la promotion de l’art contemporain et en particulier de jeunes talents.

Klaipeda, troisième ville de Lituanie, est partenaire de la Biennale JCE depuis 2005 et depuis trois ans offre aussi aux artistes JCE des ateliers de résidence pour des sejours de 2/3 mois.

A l’occasion du vernissage du 20 janvier, l’organisation offrira un hébergement gratuit à 2 artistes de chaque pays partenaire du réseau JCE. C’est un belle occasion pour participer à l’inauguration de la Biennale dans cette jolie ville sur la Mer Baltique.

En attendant de découvrir tous les artistes de la Biennale, à Montrouge, JCE vous donne rendez-vous chaque semaine pour vous présenter la sélection pays par pays. Cette semaine : la sélection artistique allemande.

Pour cette nouvelle édition, la Biennale JCE accueille un nouveau partenaire : la ville de Hambourg en Allemagne.

En s’engageant dans cette biennale, la ville de Hambourg, confirme le rayonnement de JCE, événement de référence et véritable tremplin pour les jeunes créateurs européens.

8 artistes ont été sélectionnés par le directeur de la Kunsthaus Hamburg, Claus MEWES et par le commissaire Goesta DIERCKS, pour représenter la jeune création allemande d’aujourd’hui.

Afin d’avoir le panel le plus représentatif et le plus qualitatif de la scène actuelle allemande, ils ont fait leur sélection parmi les lauréats de plusieurs prix d’art contemporain du pays :

- City of Hamburg Scholarship for Fine Arts,

- Hiscox Art Price, Price for photography by the Patriotische Gesellschaft Hamburg,

- Jugend kulturell HypoVereinsbank/Unicreditgroup, Index (young art market).

La sélection effectuée tourne autour du rapport des artistes avec les medias, de la révision esthétique de la tradition des signes, du rapport entre l’organisation de l’espace publique et la marge d’autonomie laissée aux gestes individuels.
