Marta Colombi uses only few lines, essential shapes and bare materials to describe situations and things. She sheds a light on there structure in order to lead what is real back to its purest form, its row essence. This led the artist to use stringy materials (wires, cotton and wollen threads, etc.) so she could create a images by using a single line, thus evoking the substantial through the absence. Through the line that defines space, the artist creates shapes, structures, traces of something that seems to be a remainder orexperience, of existence. In this way, everyday moments, objects and situations come to life, with an intimate and ongoing dialogue between past and present.
