For almost 30 years Mrs. Brigitte Christoph, employee at the Angewandte, has been collecting sculptures of frogs. The fact that this collection came into existence at the institution itself and the idea that collecting is a main feature of university education and artistic creation is the starting point for an installation and a set of small sized paintings and drawings. Stefan Wirnsperger thereby is interested in the formation of an artist that is characterised by freedom and idealism. A glance at the situation after studies is rather picturing a position between pragmatism and precarity. From this divergence questions arise about anticipation, self- and artistic perception, transformation and possibilities of orientation.
