Engraved Carton

This work is the fruit of long walks in klaipeda’s different suburbs.

I have been stupefied by the contrast between old and new buildings, and also the manner to restaurate  so ponctually.

By its laminated texture, the carton makes possible to accentuate the contour or at the contrary to make disappear the drawing. The line traced with a cutter can be clear or easily dammaged.

In four series, this work reveals differents states of  urban landscape built between its past, its present and its architectural future :

- Left houses  / Towers

This serie can evocate some photographs of Ausra Lazauskiene who suggested this duality in the city of Vilnius

- 60’s-70’s buildings / New commercial center and habitation

Deteriorated utopy face to face with new order for buildings

- 60’s-70’s buildings / Restaurated front

Why have been restaurated one front among a district ?

- Empty street’s corner / closed street’s corner

Establishment of the space’s saturation by new building
