Bratislava (Slovakia) – Tranzit studios and Palffi Palace apartments
In 2007 the JCE / Jeune Création Européenne project began developing a network of working residencies, offering artists stays of 2/3 months in the European partner cities.
The aim of the City of Montrouge, which first experimented with two working residencies, is to promote the artists, spread awareness about their works, and encourage interaction with the public and professional worlds. The artists are selected among the participants of the biennial, based on candidate projects. The residencies allow them to concentrate on new works during an intensive period with ideal conditions.
This appealing project has now been expanded throughout the JCE network. For the 2011/2013 edition, Portugal, Lithuania, Austria and Slovakia participate by offering residencies in the cities of Amarante, Klaipeda, Salzburg and Bratislava.
