Benjamin Renter examines organisational strucures of societies in public space. By watching mass events and spectacles, areas of representation, places and shopping districts, Renter exposes urban environment as a stage for the assertion of modern society which functions between standardised pose and authentic gesture, affirmation and self- dramatisation. With the focus on alleged individuality and through figurative analogy in relation to art history, Renter succeeds with profound commentary on the human behaviour in a globalised world.
